Capita is sponsoring the UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition
As an existing key delivery partner for the Northern Powerhouse, we’ll be there at the Manchester Central and hosting a panel debate and thought leadership session.
The second UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition will be held at Manchester Central on February 21 and 22, 2017.
This key event provides a platform for organisations and partners across both the public and private sector to discuss the work they are doing to make the Northern Powerhouse as successful as possible.
Here’s an overview of our activity during the conference so come and have a chat, join our panel discussion or take part in our thought leadership debate during the conference.
Sponsored panel debate: ‘Delivering & Financing the Powerhouse’
The session, which will be chaired by Yorkshire Bank, will also feature the following speakers:
- Harry Catherall, chief executive, Blackburn with Darwen Council
- Keith Morgan, chief executive officer, British Business Bank
- Paul Marsh, head of development & finance, Department of International Trade
- Nick Williams, managing director – consumer digital & regional ambassador, Lloyd's Banking Group
- Stephen Miller, managing director, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
- Philip Shaw, chief economist, Investec.
Listen to our thought leadership debate
Come along to our thought leadership session on 21 Feb at 11:55am, where our local authority partner Salford City Council, discusses how ‘Place Based Partnerships’ can help transform places, deliver better services, create value and increase investment.
Peter Openshaw, associate director at Salford City Council, Barry Pilkington, partnership director at Urban Vision (Capita’s joint venture partnership with Salford City Council and Galliford Try) and Deborah McLaughlin, head of housing delivery and strategy at Capita will be discussing how local authority partnerships can help transform place. Our speakers will provide examples of what’s happening to transform Salford as a place and how the city and region is now benefiting from taking this strategic approach.
For local authorities visiting our stand the team will be able to talk you through our local authority place framework, which can help you unlock Northern Powerhouse related funding from Central Government and provide you with a strategic view of your Place, attracting the right businesses, residents and targeted investment, all of which generate revenues that are sustainably reinvested into the locality.
