RPA is a critical component of Capita’s multi-year transformation programme, which focuses on delivering tech-led solutions that deliver better outcomes for its businesses, clients and end-users. As part of a £20m investment in RPA, Capita is rapidly scaling its in-house automation business, which currently employs over 100 people, and will provide automation services for existing and new Capita clients.
Capita already uses RPA in a number of its businesses and contracts, for example to improve the speed and accuracy with which GP pensions are calculated, and in helping to manage additional workloads for charging schemes.
Steve Gentle, Operational Excellence Director, Capita, said: “We are already working with clients to ensure they maximise the opportunities digital technologies present.
“But crucially, we’re also using RPA to change the way we work within our own businesses and building expertise we can share with our clients. This year, we have built up a scalable automation capability, with enterprise-grade support, security and resilience.
“Capita’s RPA the team is working with our businesses to identify, implement and deliver on RPA projects. As our preferred provider, UiPath will support us in that goal and ensure we are delivering a best-in-class RPA capability that improves process efficiencies and customer experience for our businesses and clients.”
