Raising vital funds for The Prince’s Trust
Since the summer of 2014, we’ve been raising vital funds to help The Prince’s Trust support the most disadvantaged young people in the UK.
So far we’ve raised over £725,000 for The Trust, and it’s not over yet. As Capita is such a varied business with expertise in so many areas, our partnership has enabled us to benefit The Trust both strategically and financially.
From giving through payroll, to getting involved in fundraising events like the Step Challenge, and Capita Challenge, our employees alone have raised an incredible £460k for The Trust since the partnership began. They have been involved in Palace to Palace cycle rides, Million Makers competitions, Charity Week activities, and much more. As well as fundraising for The Trust, we have used our expertise to provide strategic support in a variety of areas. For example, Capita SIMS provided pro-bono consultancy to assist The Prince’s Trust evaluation teams to further understand data extraction processes for their programmes, Capita Talent Partnerships took on four Prince's Trust learners onto their Traineeship Course and matched them to placements, and Capita’s Army Outreach teams delivered programme enrichment to young people on The Trust’s XL programme. This included young people attending Army Barracks and engaging in activities and drills based around personal development and employability skills.
Over the past two years, Capita has become a flagship partner of The Prince’s Trust. We are so grateful for the dedication Capita employees have shown to make this partnership a success. The funds raised are making a phenomenal difference to disadvantaged young people across the United Kingdom, and through the support of partners like Capita aim to help a further 1 million young people over the next 10 years. The Prince’s Trust
The Prince’s Trust was chosen as our corporate charity partner after being nominated by our employees. The Trust gives disadvantaged young people the practical, emotional and financial support they desperately need to get their lives under control. Many of the young people they help are in or leaving care, struggling at school and at risk of exclusion, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or have been in trouble with the law.
The Trust provide the opportunity to learn life-long skills so that young people are equipped for the future. They aim to give vulnerable young people a fresh start so that they can change their lives for the better, by helping young people to identify their strengths, take responsibility for themselves and work towards a future they can be proud of. Whether it’s motivating some of the hardest-to-reach teenagers to stay in school or giving young people practical skills and work experience for that crucial first step on the job ladder, they help young people make a success of their lives, something which we feel very strongly about.
