Inclusivity is central to our ongoing transformation - and Pride is an important event in our calendar.

We want to celebrate our differences, raise awareness of key issues, and to make sure we’re always learning from, listening to – and incorporating – the wide range of thoughts, beliefs and ideas that exist in a business of our size.

That’s why we celebrate Pride at Capita and are proud of our growing LGBTQ+ network – Rainbow Alliance.

Felipe Parra-Avila, Resourcing Operations Manager, and founder of the Rainbow Alliance, said: "I truly believe that having a diverse workforce can make a business more successful and employees happier. That was one of the reasons why I decided to support the idea of creating a platform where LGBTQ+ colleagues would feel included and heard.

The best thing is that this idea was not only supported by the LGBTQ+ community but also by our straight allies who work here. I believe the Rainbow Alliance network has brought people together; colleagues who want to be valued for their skills and experience, rather than for their sexuality or sexual orientation."

Laura Todd, Global Director for Inclusion and Wellbeing, said: “When we were planning Pride, we talked to colleagues about how we should best celebrate it at Capita. Even though we have decided to mark Pride at Capita with a week of activities between 8-12 July – the week after London Pride – our local offices are celebrating their commitment to Pride throughout the year. During Pride at Capita week, we’ve arranged for speakers to visit our offices to talk about their experiences and discuss how we can grow and embed this area of diversity across our business. We will be sharing videos of LGBTQ+ colleagues about what Pride means to them.”

Pride is not just about changing to a rainbow logo once a year. It is about listening and responding to the needs of our LGBTQ+ colleagues all year round – reflecting these in our policies, procedures and ways of working. We want to make sure Capita is a place where our people are proud to work and marking Pride is one of the ways in which we are thinking about diversity.

Making sure we create an inclusive workplace will benefit not only our employees, but also the clients, customers and communities we serve. And that’s something that we can all be proud of.
