We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team at Hillview House, Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment alongside a large onshore and offshore team.

Job Description

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for monitoring core IT systems and customer-specific infrastructure, providing first-line support for Windows Server platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments. Our team operates 24/7, including bank holidays, to ensure critical services remain available.

You’ll deliver round-the-clock support for our managed IT infrastructure, working on a rotating shift pattern that includes both days and nights. Generous rest periods and a shift allowance are included.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 days on (06:30 – 18:30), followed by 3 days off
  • 4 nights on (18:30 – 06:30), followed by 5 days off

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience with Windows in a 1st and 2nd line role support capacity 
  • Experience with VMWare 
  • Ideally, experience with Azure and Unix
  • Basic understanding of IP network, IP address, network devices and their role 
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance
  • Previous experience of working in a 24x7 shift environment would be beneficial

Mainly, you’ll be the point of contact when it comes to windows issues, as well as dealing with Cloud (Azure) and Virtualization (VMWare). Full training will be given.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing L1 systems support for servers running Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Carrying out regular Operation system changes
  • Providing 1st line support for applications (web portals, IIS)
  • Reacting to client logged incidents and requests through Remedy
  • Customer support experience with a basic IT Technical understanding
  • Create Templates / Clones, create / delete Snapshots
  • 3rd party vendor coordination for visit and troubleshooting
  • Assist team with daily Backup failures, System Recovery with Backups
  • Review Application logs
  • Exchange 2003/2010/2013/Office365 Management and troubleshooting, Knowledge on Archival Solutions
