Jon brings a wide range of executive and leadership expertise to Capita, with proven experience in technology-enabled services businesses, and a track record of delivering value from strategic business transformations. His most recent role was as Chief Executive of Amec Foster Wheeler until its acquisition by John Wood Group.

Ian Powell, Chairman of Capita said:

“Jon is a proven, successful business leader with the ideal blend of experience to lead the transformation of Capita. He brings strategic vision and a strong track record throughout his career of growing high value, technology-enabled services businesses through securing and developing major client relationships in both the private and public sectors. He shares my enthusiasm for the business and has the drive, ambition and ability to lead Capita to a successful future.”

Jon Lewis said:

“Capita's leaders built a remarkable track record over some 30 years, creating one of the UK's great growth businesses. Capita continues to have tremendous potential given its strong long term client relationships, outstanding talent, valuable technology portfolio and leading market position. I have spent my career innovating and deploying services to enable customers to have smarter processes and create more efficient organisations, and that is Capita’s central proposition. I believe there is a real opportunity to build a truly world class technology-enabled services business from Capita’s embedded foundations. There is work to do to complete the transformation of Capita and I am determined to make the business and its value propositions stronger for our employees, customers and shareholders, and return this great Company to growth.”

Jon Lewis joined Amec Foster Wheeler in 2016, following a 20-year career at leading, technology-based, oilfield services company Halliburton, which included 10 years working in, then running, the Landmark software business, a leading technology solutions provider of data management and analytics, science, software, and consulting services for the international oil and gas exploration and production industry. Jon’s strategy role at Landmark included working with customers to define a vision for the role of digital solutions in driving productivity, including early adoption of leading edge technologies, including real-time data telemetrics, immersive visualisation, big data and SaaS.

In his early career, Jon held a number of senior academic positions at both the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London (NERC Research Fellow) and Heriot Watt University, where he developed and managed a successful commercial, contract research business primarily for the international petroleum sector.
