Who we are

We’re proud to work alongside the Army to attract, source and select officers and soldiers for the British Army (Regular & Reserve) as part of the Recruiting Partnership Project (RPP). RPP is where Capita and the Army unite to look after those who apply to the British Army, and guide and nurture them on their journey into basic training.

It’s only by working closely together that we’re able to get the best candidates into the Army to strengthen our nation’s security and defence. Whether you work full-time or part-time, in an office, on-site in a military barracks or at home, you’ll discover a truly collaborative environment. We foster an inclusive, open and honest culture where expertise and experience are shared, and everyone’s ideas are encouraged. You’ll be joining a passionate and motivated team with a diverse mix of backgrounds and perspectives.

    What to expect

    The selection process

    01

    An initial chat with us

Once your application has been received, you’ll be contacted by a member of our Capita Resourcing team who’ll discuss the role with you and learn more about your skills and experience.

    02

    Interview

If your skills and experience match the role you applied for, your application will be progressed to interview stage. This is a competency-based interview, face-to-face or via video link. Depending on the role, an assessment scenario may also be included.

    03

    Offer

Should you be successful at this stage, you’ll be issued a verbal offer of employment, followed up by a written contract via our candidate portal within 24-48 working hours.

    04

    Background checks

Once you’ve received the contract, your candidate file will progress to the background checks, which take six weeks on average to complete. The checks include referencing, gaps in employment, financial probity and a minimum of a standard DBS check (role-dependent).

    05

    Confirmation and start date

Once the background checks are complete, we’ll confirm your start date and provide you with all the information you need for your first day with us.

*Background check timeframes depend on the level of security vetting required, which may differ for different roles. Vetting timeframes are dependent on the candidate completing all the necessary paperwork and submissions, and any external vetting sources providing information in a timely manner to support the completion of the process. Please speak to a member of the Capita Resourcing team if you have any questions.
