Here at Entrust we have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Finance Assistant to join our fast paced and friendly team as a School Finance Assistant. You would be working closely with schools, multi-academy trusts across the Barnet area to provide varied financial support ensuring that they are able to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Working onsite within these schools this person will provide support in the provision of a professional accountancy and financial service for schools and academies, by carrying out bookkeeping and related duties. Being onsite allows you to work closely with the school stakeholders, develop networks and be on hand for queries as they arise. This is an invaluable role providing support and guidance when it is needed most.
The role is varied and involves visiting different schools and requires excellent interpersonal skills.
This is a part time role working 24 hours per week (some flexibility on how this is fitted during the week, the role is also term time only and thus works 39 weeks of the year.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
Input monthly business financial reporting, including analysis and insight around any deviation from plan and the action plan to deliver the forecast/BP.
Analyse information to provide insight into the business.
Provide input to bids as required.
Execute financial controls aligned to group policy and all appropriate standards (including IFRS 15, IFRS 16).
Provide value-added analysis on issues impacting the business and manage forecasts for the Business Units.
Prepare financial reporting data.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of P&L, balance sheet, and working capital requirements.
What we’re looking for:
A prove track record of working within finance (ideally in a school setting although this is not essential)
Experience of handling budgets, finance reports, paying invoices, completing payment runs and raising purchase orders
Based in the Barnet area with access to own transport
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
A proactive approach to self development
