Pensions Data Technician – Scheme Events

We are looking for someone to join the Scheme Events team in Capita Pensions Solutions with either a mathematics-based qualification and data experience in financial Services or someone with technical DB pensions experience.

The team you will be joining collects, organises and evaluates data from across the business to make informed decisions and improve business insight. You will be working on projects to support and manage data deliverables.

This is the perfect role for someone who is passionate about data and looking to start a career in pensions or someone with technical pensions experience looking to work in a project-based role

Key responsibilities

  • To work with the Senior Data Technicians, Scheme Events Leads and Scheme Event Manager to deliver requirements for Scheme Events and Projects (time scales, deliverables, quality, sign off) and to input into the planning process.
  • To be responsible for the accuracy and quality of Scheme Events and Projects.
  • To correspond and build working relationships with clients and Capita colleagues.
  • Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to line management and/or the Operational Risk & Compliance Department.
  • Regularly review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and controls and make suggestions to continually enhance service delivery, improve processes and reduce potential complaints and business risks.
  • Identifying and reporting risks and breaches immediately to the Breach Specialists and Service Delivery Manager and to the Operational Risk & Compliance Department and ensuring the appropriate controls are in place to facilitate this

Key tasks

  • Develop and support reporting processes and policies
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools
  • Liaise with other Analysts to increase efficiency and automation of processes
  • Implement external services and tools to support data validation and cleansing
  • Track key performance indicators as defined by senior members of the team
    Monitor and audit data quality
  • Understand customer needs, regularly seek feedback and incorporate these into analytical product design
  • Understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Support in the Manipulation, analysis of data sets relating to the business
  • Engage with and actively contribute to the data analytics community

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Mathematics-based qualification with data experience (data management, analysis, modelling, cleansing, enrichment, linkage and visualisation) in financial Services or technical DB pensions experience
  • Excel - Demonstrate the ability to use filters, sorting, pivot tables (rows, columns, grouping, filters and totalling).
  • Excel – Can use formulas including lookups, IF and nested IF statements, date calculations and formatting of cells to specific guidelines.
  • Excel - Can import data/text files and use data validation
  • Logical and creative thinking skills
  • Project management skills

  • Project management qualification
