We are looking for a Scheme Event Lead to join the Scheme Events team in Capita Pensions Solutions. You will be a key part of a team that owns and manages pensions projects to cover complex extraction, analysis, cleansing and the processing of pensions data to create better outcomes for our clients. You will bring your technical pensions experience to take the lead on key client projects, cyclical activities and scheme events to ensure they are completed in line with procedural and client requirements and within service level agreements.
You will have experience of working on a variety of DB pension schemes with the ability to lead on the delivery of assigned projects and schemes. This role is perfect if you are an existing Senior Pensions Technician looking to work within a project-based role.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing
Key responsibilities:
- To deliver requirements for Scheme Events and Projects (timescales, deliverables, quality, sign off) and to input into the planning process.
- To review the work of Pensions Data Technicians and Senior Pensions Data Technicians and provide feedback and technical support.
- To be responsible for the accuracy and quality of Scheme Events and Projects.
- To correspond and build working relationships with clients, Capita colleagues and other external stakeholders
- To lead on client and project calls for key projects.
- Owns and maintains scheme events calendars.
- Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to line management and/or the Operational Risk & Compliance Department. To maintain RAID logs where appropriate.
- Take ownership of assigned clients’ scheme event calendars and provide progress updates to management and clients and manage delivery.
- Regularly review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and controls and make suggestions to continually enhance service delivery, improve processes and reduce potential complaints and business risks.
- To support and assist the management team where required in all aspects of service delivery and business support for example, ad hoc projects, auditing, etc
Key tasks:
- To lead on the delivery of scheme events and projects for assigned clients.
- Performs data processes, including the following:
- Running and specifying data extracts from the administration system including bespoke reports.
- Transforming extracted data or data received into the required format and structure
- Performing and specifying data uploads to the administration system
- Building Mail Merge letters
- Performing bulk calculations in Excel
- Building and enhancing Excel templates and macros for regular jobs
- Act as project manager for smaller projects and scheme events
- Acts as an Subject Matter Expert for large internal change and client projects. Acts as work stream lead on larger projects
What we’re looking for:
Essential
- Technical pensions knowledge of DB pensions schemes
- Project Management Skills
- Pension administration and work management systems
- Accuracy, attention to detail and quality management
- Excel - Demonstrate the ability to use filters, sorting, pivot tables (rows, columns, grouping, filters and totalling).
- Excel – Can use formulas including lookups, IF and nested IF statements, date calculations and formatting of cells to specific guidelines.
- Excel - Can import data/text files and use data validation
