Capita Pension Solutions is seeking a Senior Pension Administrator to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering better outcomes by bringing your experience to support and guide a team of administrators. You’ll foster a positive environment focused on training, coaching, and continuous development.

You’ll take the lead in ensuring casework is completed accurately and in line with service level agreements and scheme rules, all while delivering a consistently high standard of customer service that evolves with our clients’ needs.

Job Description

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (30-minute break), 40 hours per week.

Location: home based, with very occasional travel for team meetings

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting a team in operational service delivery in accordance with client contracts, legislation, policy conditions, business rules and procedures, and within the legislative / regulatory framework.
  • Understanding client requirements and making every effort to ensure key performance indicators and quality standards are met.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of processes, procedures, and products.
  • Understanding, building, maintaining, and enhancing stakeholder and/or client relationships.
  • Supporting the Pensions Team Manager in preparing for meetings and providing business MI.
  • Occasionally undertaking inbound and outbound call activities, depending on business needs.


What we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • Experience in pension administration, with strong technical knowledge and hands-on expertise in Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes.
  • Solid understanding of Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP) and its revaluation process.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Experience coaching, training and mentoring others. Leveraging your expertise to guide and develop others to enhance their skills and proficiency.
  • Proven experience in performing complex manual calculations with accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in scenarios where automated tools may not be applicable.
  • Proven experience in authorising and reviewing work, with a focus on delivering constructive and positive feedback.
  • Skilled in handling escalations effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to handle inbound and outbound calls efficiently and professionally, ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • Excellent numeracy and data inputting skills.
  • Strong written communication skills in a variety of communication channels.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting, with the ability to effectively support managerial tasks and decision-making.
