Your role as Test Manager is to develop, manage and successfully deliver through to Authority approval the test methodology, evaluation, and acceptance across the full range of Royal Navy Submarine Training Centre (RNSTC) programme deliverables over the life cycle of the programme.
This is a hybrid role, you will be required to be in the office at Faslane twice a week and have the ability to travel to Portsmouth/Plymouth on a monthly basis.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing and implementing the RNSTC test strategy, framework, and supporting tools and processes.
- Ensure all testing activities meet defined standards and support strategic goals of the Authority and Team Fisher.
- Define and manage business and user acceptance testing across all phases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective input and ownership throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Oversee the full software testing lifecycle (STLC), including tooling, coverage, and effectiveness.
- Drive continuous and incremental test delivery aligned with quality standards and programme objectives.
What we’re looking for:
Essential skills & experience:
- Previous experience of working with 3rd party suppliers
- Proven experience of working on large complex projects
- Exposure to accessibility, resilience, compatibility, and security testing. Initiating and advising on analysis practices, including the effective use of exploratory test techniques
- Experience working as Test Manager or Programme Test Manager
- Ability to create and implement Test Strategies
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor
Desirable skills & experience:
- Test Qualifications (ISTQB or Equivalent)
- Agile Qualifications (SCRUM, KANBAN, SAFE etc)
- Specific knowledge of Royal Navy training systems and methodology
- Specific knowledge of the current issues and challenges associated with UK Royal Navy Submarine Service training
- Specific experience and understanding of the issues and challenges associated with the HMNB Clyde base location
- Knowledge and / or background understanding of the Selborne Training Requirement
- Current SC clearance

Selborne is a £1 billion, 12-year contract which commenced operations on 1 April 2021. It is a strategic partnership between Team Fisher (a consortium of partners, led by Capita) and the Royal Navy, to transform 80% of shore-based training for sailors, submariners and marines.
