This February celebrates national LGBT History Month, the aim of which is to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of all.
To mark this month, we wanted to raise awareness across Capita and share ways our people can be involved and take action to encourage an inclusive workplace.
Members of Capita’s LGBTQ+ ‘Rainbow Alliance’ network want to create a supportive and welcoming work environment, and effect real change in society.
Many people believe that LGBTQ+ networks are only for people who identify themselves as anything other than ‘straight’. But we want to involve any heterosexual and cis-gendered people who respect and understand the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. Having these visible straight ‘allies’ in a team can help LGBTQ+ people to feel supported and empowered to bring their whole selves to work.
