How it works

Whether you’re tracking the duty status of an individual officer or monitoring general staffing levels at your station, Origin DMS enables you to analyse shift trends, manning levels and abstractions at any level.

In addition to tracking shift status it also provides for the management of rest days, time off in lieu (TOIL), holidays, sickness, absence and overtime, with all functionality fully self-service and mobile enabled for usage by the officer on the beat. Its features include function-rich ‘professional’ forms for duty planners and administrators, and an intuitive self-service module that the rest of the workforce can use easily.

You can implement Origin DMS as a stand-alone duty management solution or integrate it fully with the wider Origin resource management system. You can deploy it locally into your force’s existing IT infrastructure or, as a fully web-based solution, use it in the Cloud with a certified web browser.

Origin DMS offers a variety of duty-planning tools, including:

  • absence control facilities to make sure people don’t take time off during periods of constraint
  • minimum cover monitoring and alerts to let you know when you need to act to guarantee minimum cover and to make required skills available
  • a full audit trail so you have a full record of who has made changes, what they changed and when.
