Helping students access the support they need to succeed
Capita provides evidence-based needs assessments for students who are not eligible through Student Loans Company (SLC) Disabled Students Allowance (DSA). Our assessments help students access the right specialist equipment and one to one support, so they can take part in learning with confidence and fulfil their potential.
Our experienced assessors deliver high quality assessments for students with a wide range of needs, including specific learning differences, autism, mental health related difficulties, visual or hearing impairments, long term chronic disabilities and physical disabilities.
A consistent assessment service for alternative funding routes
In addition to supporting more than 30,000 higher education students through DSA each year, Capita also provide a nationwide remote needs assessment service for students who access support through other funding routes.
This includes:
- degree apprentices who are not eligible for DSA
- UK Research and Innovation funded students
- international higher education students
- university funded students
- Northern Ireland DSA students
- Student Awards Agency Scotland DSA students
- students supported by other funding bodies, including Jersey and other Crown dependencies.
