Corporate travel in a geopolitically fragmented world
In a world shaped by geopolitical instability, economic pressure and environmental accountability, unmanaged travel spend isn’t just expensive, it’s exposed.
Read moreThe real challenge lies in finding the right balance between social impact and business performance, environmental responsibility and growth, and the sometimes competing needs of colleagues, customers, communities and shareholders.
Our latest external awards and accreditations reflect the progress we're making across these interconnected priorities. From supporting charitable causes and advancing inclusion to strengthening climate commitments and governance, they provide independent recognition of the balanced approach we are taking to create long-term value for all our stakeholders.
These achievements span the key areas of our Responsible Business agenda and recognise the collective efforts of colleagues across Capita who continue to embed responsible business practices into the way we work every day.
Supporting causes that matter
Creating positive social impact starts with supporting the causes that are important to our colleagues and communities.
We're proud to have been awarded the Platinum Quality Mark by Charities Trust, recognising our commitment to Payroll Giving and the support we provide to colleagues who choose to donate directly from their salary to charitable causes.
Thanks to the generosity of colleagues across Capita, around £180,000 is donated through Payroll Giving each year, helping to support a wide range of charities and community organisations. Since partnering with Hands On Payroll Giving UK in 2013, colleagues have donated more than £3.5 million.
The Platinum Quality Mark is the highest level of recognition available and reflects the sustained success of our Payroll Giving programme in generating long-term funding for charities across the UK.
Maintaining momentum on inclusion
Creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and able to thrive remains a key part of our responsible business agenda.
This year, we maintained our Gold award and 90% score in the Talent Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation (TIDE) Assessment, delivered by our inclusion partner Onvero.
Achieving Gold status places Capita at the highest "Sustain" level of the TIDE Inclusion Roadmap and reflects the continued efforts taking place across the business to foster an inclusive culture, remove barriers and support diverse talent.
This recognition belongs to colleagues across Capita, including our Employee Network Groups, inclusion champions and leaders, whose commitment helps create a workplace where everyone can succeed.
Strengthening our climate commitments
Balancing social and economic priorities with environmental responsibility is essential to creating long-term value.
That's why we're pleased that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved our updated near-term emissions reduction targets. The approval follows the required five-year review of our targets and confirms that our climate commitments remain aligned with the latest climate science.
Our long-term Net Zero target remains validated, and this independent approval provides confidence that our emissions reduction pathway is credible, measurable and aligned with global climate goals.
The approval reinforces our commitment to taking meaningful climate action while supporting the long-term resilience of our business and the communities we serve.
Recognition for responsible business performance
Our continued inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index Series for a third consecutive year reflects progress across the environmental, social and governance (ESG) dimensions of our business.
Created by the global index and data provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE4Good indexes are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.
FTSE Russell evaluations are based on performance in areas such as Corporate Governance, Health & Safety, Anti-Corruption and Climate Change. Businesses included in the FTSE4Good Index Series meet a variety of environmental, social and governance criteria.
Looking ahead
While we're proud of these achievements, we see them as milestones rather than destinations.
Responsible business is an ongoing journey that requires us to continually balance the needs of our colleagues, customers, communities, investors and the environment. The challenges are complex, and there is no single measure of success. What matters is making progress across all areas and ensuring that our actions create positive and lasting impact.
While there is always more to do, these awards and accreditations provide valuable external recognition of that progress, but most importantly, they reflect the dedication, passion and commitment of colleagues across Capita who are helping to build a more sustainable, inclusive and responsible business for the future.
