Capita plc today announces that it has secured a five-year extension for its two Transport for London (TfL) Road User Charging contracts.

The extensions run from October 2026 to September 2031, with options to extend for up to a further two years to September 2033. The combined value of the extensions is expected to be approximately £424.6m over the initial five-year term.

The extensions cover both TfL's Business Operations and Enforcement Operations contracts which support the operation of London's Road User Charging schemes, including the Congestion Charge, Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and Tunnels User Charging schemes.

Since 2016, Capita has acted as the systems and service integrator and operator for TfL's Road User Charging services, combining technology, operations, customer services and specialist supply chain capability to support the delivery and ongoing development of these schemes.

Gavin Dunkley, Managing Director, Capita Public Transport Sector, said:

"We are delighted to have secured this extension and to continue supporting TfL in the delivery of London's Road User Charging services.

"This extension reflects the contribution of many people across Capita and our supply chain partners who have successfully delivered and transformed these services over a number of years, combining operational expertise with technology to support the evolution of London's Road User Charging schemes. I would like to thank everyone involved for their continued commitment and expertise.

"We look forward to continuing to support TfL in the operation and development of these important services for London.”

Notes to editors:

The combined IFRS 15 transaction price (order book) for the initial five-year contract is approximately £424.6 million.
