Capita plc today announces that it is leveraging Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) solutions from Microsoft to transform the workplace for Capita colleagues, deliver better outcomes for clients, and help support growth.

Capita is deploying Copilot for Microsoft 365 to a number of Capita colleagues from a cross-section of roles from the whole organisation, integrating state-of-the-art AI capabilities into the desktop applications they use every day.

The Copilot trial aims to help colleagues – including contact centre agents, front-line support staff, managers and leaders from across both of Capita’s divisions – to automate routine tasks, summarise complex documents, and draft content, allowing employees to focus on higher-value work and creative problem-solving.

In addition, Capita's code developers are benefiting from Copilot for GitHub, an AI-powered coding assistant that helps to write better code, faster. This tool enables developers to focus on the more intricate and innovative aspects of software development, driving efficiency and productivity. The tool is live with 200 developers and has already resulted in productivity improvements of up to 25 per cent.

Manpreet Singh, Chief Technology Officer, Capita, said: "This extension of our relationship with Microsoft marks a significant milestone in Capita's journey towards becoming a modern tech-enabled enterprise.

“The integration of Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Copilot for GitHub into our operations is a demonstration of ongoing commitment to leveraging Gen AI to create a better working experience for our colleagues, removing repetitive and time-consuming tasks, creating efficiencies, and enabling our colleagues to focus on innovation and more complex work.

“We will always be a people business and we are committed to upskilling and training our colleagues to enable them to be successful in this evolving digital landscape.”

Chris Perkins, General Manager, Enterprise Commercial, Microsoft UK, said "AI technologies are rapidly transforming every sector and we are delighted to be working with Capita to bring the benefits of this technology to its operations and workforce.
