Capita plc today announces it has been appointed to the Department for Work and Pensions’ (DWP) renewed and enhanced Commercial Agreement for Employment and Health Related Services (CAEHRS) framework.

The framework will see suppliers bid for up to £7.5bn worth of work over five years.

Capita is the only new supplier to be successfully appointed to all seven regional lots as well as the national lot. The company anticipates being able to bid for contracts under the renewed framework when it opens in winter 2020.

CAEHRS covers England, Scotland and Wales and can be used by government departments, the devolved administrations and local authorities to procure programmes from suppliers to support people who are unemployed, disabled, have a health condition or other barrier to work, to find training and employment.

The renewed framework will play a significant role in enabling England, Scotland and Wales to get people into work and also recover economically from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Capita’s appointment to CAEHRS will see the company combining its expertise in supporting vulnerable people, working with major employers, managing complex projects and delivering digital transformation to bid for contracts under the framework.

The seven regional lots of the framework are divided into two tiers that are based on the size of contract value and a supplier’s capability to deliver them. Capita has been appointed to five tier one lots, which are higher value, and two tier two. The national lot does not have tiers.

Andy Start, Capita’s Chief Executive Officer for Government Services, said: “We are delighted to be appointed to this renewed £7.5bn framework which will enable us to bid for contracts that will play a vital role in helping the UK recover from the economic effects of Covid-19 and enable the unemployed and disabled overcome the barriers to accessing work.

“This framework will see us build on our existing and longstanding partnership with DWP and will draw on our record of supporting vulnerable people, training and skilling across a breadth of industries and delivering digitally enabled services for government and citizens.”
