We’ve helped to make over 25,000 houses warmer and installed 15,000 new energy efficient measures, reducing the human impact on the environment and saving money for end users.

In partnership with the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC), we administered incentive funds under the Green Deal initiative, a government scheme designed to help people make energy saving improvements to their home and find the most cost-effective way of paying for them.

We defined the scheme regulations with DECC to create a practical and effective application process which included the creation of a website, customer relationship management (CRM) system and call centre support. Our digital application service allowed successful applicants to be issued with a voucher for funding towards the cost of energy saving works on their home.

We also delivered on-site audits to verify the work had been completed in line with the scheme’s terms and conditions, including arranging appointments, scheduling visits and preparing inspection reports.

Our specialist field teams were trained to validate the installation of the energy efficient measures against the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) recommendations and minimise fraud through utilisation of our joint audit and compliance framework.

This jointly-created framework was underpinned by an adaptive risk engine that helped identify trends using current and historic data to ascertain risk amongst scheme participants. This enabled resources to be focused effectively whilst maintaining a random audit for benchmarking.

In a Cabinet report the programme was awarded a gold rating.

“Strong testing, with high precision sampling. Although the programme appears well-controlled the standard of testing is high, and the team demonstrated a solid understanding of the fraud and error risks.”
